Investigation of avation incident at Flittig motor sport centre near Skien
On 28 August 2025, LN-ASY conducted an unannounced overflight of the runway at Flittig motor sport centre, in low-altitude. The runway was used in connection with the Jet World Masters 2025.There was a valid NOTAM for the large scale model aircraft activity.
When the overflight occurred, there was free flight of the participants in the Jet World Masters 2025, and a jet modell pilot was standing on the taxiway. On the ground was his turbine-powered jet model aircraft, a Tomahawk Futura "sport-jet". The Norwegian Safety Investigation Autority (NSIA) has obtained access to the pilot's video from the incident, which showed that the jet model aircraft did not move, and that he visually followed LN-ASY.
The NSIA has, after an assessment, classified the case as an aviation incident. Based on information NSIA has received, the NSIA believes, however, that an investigation and accompanying report can provide significant safety lessons.
