Report on aviation accident offshore near Ekofisk Lima on 31 October 2021 with Sikorsky S-92 A, LN-ONH, operated by Bristow Norway AS

On Sunday 31 October 2021 a rescuer suffered injury during SAR training near Ekofisk when he was lowered down onto a supply vessel as part of training. During the lowering he slid on a steelstructure on the ship and fell onto the ship's deck. The rescuer was flown to Stavanger hospital for further treatment. The investigation has shown that the weather was a contributing factor to the accident. The weather was within the limits of the helicopter and crew and the weather conditions represented realistic training conditions. Light seems to be a factor that could have prevented the accident from ocurring.
