Are you going to be interviewed by the NSIA?

Why will I be interviewed?

The purpose of the interview is to provide the Norwegian Safety Investigation Authority (NSIA) with information about what you experienced in connection with the incident or accident or other information that may be relevant to the investigation. The information you provide will only used by the NSIA in its own safety investigation.

You have a duty to share the information you have with the NSIA. We may also request documents, videos, photos etc.

Would you like someone to accompany you at the interview? Please contact us in advance to agree on the details.

How does the NSIA process the information I provide?

The aim of the NSIA’s investigations is to improve safety. The NSIA is bound by a duty of confidentiality and will not share your information with other parties such as the police, supervisory authorities, your employer or insurance companies. If you have any concerns about this, we are happy to explain in more detail before the interview commences.

You can read more in our privacy policy here.

The NSIA publishes an official report after completing the investigation. If the information you provide is necessary to explain what happened and what caused the accident, it may be reproduced in the report. In such case, you will normally receive a draft for review and will be able to make comments before the report is published. Read more about our case processing procedure here.
