Report on aviation accident at Leavnnjasjavri, approx. 20 km west of Skoganvarre in Porsanger municipality, Norway on 16 April 1971 with Piper Cub, LN-RTD
Aviation report 1973/01
On a flight from Skoganvarre to Alta, the aircraft crashed close to the lake Leavnnjasjavri. There were two people on board, and both were found deceased the day after the aircraft was reported missing.
The Accident Investigation Board believe that the accident occurred when the pilot attempted to conduct a visual flight in weather conditions that gradually became too poor. This resulted in loss of reference to the ground which in turn led to the aircraft being flown into the ground.
