Report on aviation accident on Raudnuten at Ringedalsvatnet on 8 August 1971 with Cessna TU 206 D, LN-RTU
Aviation report 1974/03
The seaplane was on a return flight from Litlosvatnet to Odda with a pilot and four passengers on board when it crashed into the mountain Raudnuten en route. All five on board perished in the accident.
The weather conditions were challeging and the Accident Investigation Board believes that the pilot tried to carry out a VFR flight in weather and terrain conditions that made this impossible.
