Report on aviation accident at Falkefjell on 5 March 1978 with Partenavia P68B Victor 36, LN-MAD

On 5 March 1978 Partenavia P68B, LN-MAD took off from Båtsfjord to fly to Kirkenes via Vadsø. The flight was to take place according to instrument flight rules (IFR), and the assignment was commercial taxi flying. In addition to the pilot there were two passengers on board. The pilot reported that they had passed Skipskjølen and had Vadsø in sight. During descent, the aircraft collided with the terrain and was completely destroyed. The pilot and one passenger was killed, while the other passenger sustained serious injuries.
