Report on accident near Brydalsfossen, Masfjorden municipality in Hordaland county, Norway, 7 December 2015 with Airbus Helicopters AS 350 B3, LN-OXG

Aviation report 2016/05

The helicopter was sling loading poles in connection with work on a power line. As the helicopter was above the work site, a tree fell over. It first hit the helicopter's long line, and then hit a person on the ground who was seriously injured. The pilot maneuvered the helicopter away and radioed for assistance. It was probably the downdraft from LN-OXG's main rotor that caused the tree to fall over.
