Report on air accident at Stavanger airport Sola, Rogaland county, Norway on 15 October 2020 with Boeing Airplane Company BOEING A75N1, LN-STM
Aviation report 2021/05
The pilot landed the Stearman on runway 29 after a local area tour. Shortly after landing, the aircraft heading changed towards the runway edge. The pilot responded by braking too hard which resulted in the aircraft flipping over on its back. The pilot and a passenger evacuated uninjured from the aircraft. The NSIA considers that landings with this type of aircraft could have been made with greater safety margins on a grass-covered runway.
This report is in Norwegian only.
