The NSIA has initiated a safety investigation into a tent fire that occurred at Sessvollmoen camp in Ullensaker municipality on 22 March 2025. The fire occurred during preparations for a Home Guard rehearsal exercise. During the preparations, an Multifuel M94 tent stove was used. The tent quickly caught fire and burned down.

Some of the persons who assisted in the extinguishing attempt, inhaled smoke and were sent to the emergency room for follow-up. Two people were then sent to hospital for overnight observation.

The investigation will clarify the sequence of events and contributing factors, and collect data on similar incidents that have occurred with the Multifuel M94. Based on this, the NSIA will assess areas for improving safety.
