Air accident at Svolvær airport Helle: Investigations in Svolvær

Investigators from the AIBN conducts investigations in Svolvær following the accident with Piper Aircraft, Inc. PA-28-161, LN-TOS, Sunday 11 February

The airplane is located and the Accident Investigation Board Norway has contracted Seløy Undervannsservice A/S to assist the AIBN with the recovery. The aim is to dockument the crash site and recover the wreckage. The operation is depending on the sea and weather conditions. The plan is to start the operation on Saturday 17 February. The wreckage will thereafter be examined for possible technical conditions that may have contributed to the accident.

Interviews and collection of data has begun Wednesday 14 February in Svolvær.
