Investigation of aviation accident near Oppdal airfield, Fagerhaug (ENOP) in Trøndelag county, Norway
Monday 1 July 2024 an Aeroprakt A-22L2 microlight airplane crashed approximately 300 meters east of the runway at Oppdal airfield in Norway. Both occupants died as a result of the accident.
The airplane took off from Oppdal airfield on a local flight at 1042 local time with two persons on board. After approximtaly 30 minutes of flight they followed runway 07 on an easterly heading. A short time after passing the runway departure end they started a right hand turn before they suddenly lost altitude and impacted European route E6. The airplane continued through a fence before it came to rest next to a barn on the northern side of the road. The airplane caught fire as a result of the crash.
The Norwegian Safety Investigation Authority has opened an investigation into the accident.
