Report on air accident near Ørland 22 May 1977, with Cessna 172, LN-VIE

The Cessna 172 with registration number LN-VIE took of from Ørland Airport with a plan to fly for one hour. The weather at Ørland worsened, and the control tower made repeated attempts to contact the pilot, but could not reach him. 1.5 hours after takeoff the situation was interpreted as an emergency, and a search was initiated. Despite an extensive search neither the aircraft nor the pilot was found. The plane is presumed to have crashed and the pilot is presumed to have perished as a result of the crash.
