Report on aviation accident on 27 June 2024 at Setersmoen farm in Elverum with LAK-17B FES mini, LN-GLI

On Wednesday 27 June 2024, structural damage occurred to a glider during landing on a barley field.
The pilot, who was alone on board, chose to land on the barley field due to a lack of buoyancy and an empty operating battery. The left wingtip descended in to the top of the barley (60–70 cm high). The glider rotated sharply to the left and slid sideways until it stopped. There were no injuries, but damage to the aircraft. The left wing was replaced.
Investigation of this accident has been delegated to the Sailplane Section of the Norwegian Air Sports Federation (S/NLF). The report from S/NLF is is reproduced in its entirety.
