Investigation of a ski lift accident at SkiStar Hemsedal
On Tuesday 23 January 2024, two small children attending a ski school with other children, fell out of a chairlift from approx. 10 meters. The two children were taken to hospital and later diagnosed with light injuries.
The investigation will clarify the sequence of events and point to possible causal factors. Any underlying circumstances that may have contributed to the incident will be clarified and analysed.
The purpose of the investigation is to contribute to learning that can be used in the work to improve safety when people travel on chairlifts.
