Thematic investigation of accidents involving youths on lightweight motorcycles – part 2
Four young people aged 16-17 lost their lives while riding light motorcycles in 2024. As a result, the Norwegian Safety Investigation Authority initiated a thematic investigation into accidents involving young riders on light motorcycles.
The thematic investigation's Part one report has been published.
Part 2 of the thematic investigation will include further investigations of the most central findings from Part 1 of the investigation, with an emphasis on organizational and systemic factors. Based on the investigation, the Norwegian Safety Investigation Authority will investigate areas for improving safety.
It is not the NSIA’s task to apportion blame or liability under criminal or civil law. The purpose of the investigation is solely to contribute to learning and the prevention of serious incidents and accidents.
