Investigation of aviation accident at Setersmoen farm Elverum
On Wednesday 27 June 2024, structural damage occurred to a glider, LAK-17B FES mini, LN-GLI, during landing on a barley field.
The pilot, who was alone on board, chose to land on the barley field due to a lack of buoyancy and an empty operating battery. The left wingtip descended in to the top of the barley (60-70 cm high). The glider rotated sharply to the left and slid sideways until it stopped. There were no injuries, but damage to the aircraft. The left wing had to be replaced.
Investigation of this accident has been delegated to the Sailplane Section of the Norwegian Air Sports Federation (S/NLF).
