An AB worked with the sea lashing equipment for a lifeboat when he fell 5 metres down to the deck below and perished as a consequence of the injuries he suffered in the fall. The crew had not conducted a risk assessment prior to commencing the specific work, which the company has implemented corrective measures for after the accident.

The producttanker Marinor were in international waters when the AB worked with the sea lashing equipment for the freefall lifeboat on the poop deck. He used a ladder to get access to one of the lashings. It was in this operation he fell 5 metres down to the deck below and perished as a consequence of the injuries he suffered in the fall.

No safety recomendation is issued in connection with this investigation.
