Investigation of an occupational accident east of Malta, Mediterran sea
The Norwegian Safety Investigation Authority (NSIA) have decided to investigate the work accident on board the bulk carrier Spar Scorpio on 17 February 2026, where a crew member lost their life after falling overboard.
The accident occured in connection with preperations on deck for heavy weather. SAR-operation was carried out, but the crew member has not been found.
