Investigation of a run-over accident at a freight terminal at Berger in Lillestrøm municipality

The Norwegian Safety Investigation Authority (NSIA) has initiated a safety investigation into the run-over accident on 16 January 2026, in which a person was hit by a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) at a freight terminal in Berger in Lillestrøm municipality. The person died as a result of the injuries.

On the morning of January 16, 2026, a person was hit by a HGV at Bring's freight terminal in Berger. The HGV had finished loading and drove onto the E6 highway with the person trapped under the vehicle. The person was thrown off and found dead in the roadway.

The investigation will clarify the sequence of events, identify safety issues and map the contributing factors to the accident. Based on this, the NSIA will assess areas for improving safety.
